Regional Sales Manager - Home Based (Healthcare Sector)

Job Description:

SLS Permanent Recruitment are looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager on behalf of our national Healthcare client. To apply please send an up to date CV in a MS WORD Format along with a covering letter and salary expectations.

 

 

 

Role Purpose:

·            To achieve the agreed annual sales and margin targets in cash or % in the defined geographical area.

  • To represent The Comapany in the defined market that the company operate in and to promote the company in line with the sales and marketing plan.
  • To carry out “face to face” key account sales visits per week in markets or with customer types as directed by the Head of Sales. Sales visits to non key accounts to support and prospects will be in addition. Cost effective journey planning must be maintained by the RSM.
  • Ensure that key customers are visited in each local authority in your area a minimum of once per month unless otherwise determined by the key account themselves.
  • Submit a completed weekly report detailing the previous week’s activity by the Tuesday following the previous Friday.
  • To produce Area Management Information reports on a monthly basis and save onto sharepoint
  • Carry out product demonstrations and assessments in conjunction with healthcare professionals. Ensure all are logged with the Sales Administrator and notify of outcome.
  • To operate a journey plan in the most efficient manner in terms of time and cost.
  • To produce quotations through the Internal Sales Team and correspondence with customers at an acceptable standard (as defined by the agreed sales processes)
  • To support on tenders
  • To review contract and special price agreements in line with the relevant procedure.
  • To respond to customer requests for quotations, appointments or ”queries” within three working days.
  • To feedback relevant customer, product, competitor and market information.
  • To attend national and regional exhibitions as required
  • Manage product samples within their budget in a saleable condition.
  • Maintain company property (car, lap top, Phone etc) in line with company policy

 

Note:  this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and duties associated with this job role.  The post holder is expected to undertake other duties, which may from time to time be reasonably required.

 

 

Role Requirements:

A strong team player with the ability to work well under pressure, form effective interpersonal relationships (both internally and externally). Be able to communicate with people at all levels (both verbally and written). Excellent negotiation skills. Have intermediate IT and presentation skills. Intermediate IT skills to include; Microsoft Office Excel (levels v-lookup and pivot tables) and outlook. Have excellent attention to detail, with an enthusiastic, professional and flexible approach to work. To support the Commercial Manager, Internal Account Manager and Internal/External Sales Team.

·         IT – Microsoft packages ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Internet)

·         Knowledge of SAP

Key Tasks:

·         To work alongside the Commercial / Internal Sales Team / Regional Sales Manager colleagues to maintain contact and build relationships with ad hoc accounts

·         To work alongside the Head of Sales / Internal Sales Team / Regional Sales Manager and other colleagues to develop specific accounts.

·         To prepare and negotiate pricing for specified accounts.

·         To communicate with the appropriate departments to resolve queries

·         Submit a completed weekly report detailing the previous week’s activity and outlining the coming weeks planned activity by the Tuesday following the previous Friday.

·         To produce Area Management Information reports on a monthly basis. These should be uploaded onto sharepoint within 3 working days of the end of the previous period.

·         To identify marketing opportunities within specified accounts.

·         To identify and feedback strategic opportunities to maximise contracts

 

Experience

·         Minimum 4 years sales experience.

·         Experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines.

·         Experience of working in a team.

·         Market knowledge /sector experience preferred but not essential

 

Qualifications:

·         ‘A’ Level standard

 

Knowledge:

  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent ability to work independently to achieve key responsibilities
  • Ability to display excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to produce precise and accurate information (written and numeric)
  • Good working knowledge of SAP preferred but not essential
  • Confident User of Microsoft Office Word and Excel (vlookup and pivot tables) is essential
